Sunday Small Group Bible Study Overview
As Pleasant View continues to attract new people we must grow larger and smaller at the same time. Connecting to one of the many Small Groups provides opportunities for authentic friendships where real biblical growth can take place.
The purpose of our Small Group's is three fold:
Reaching People: We help change our communities with the Message of Jesus Christ
Teaching People: We help people of every age learn, grow and become, with His inerant, infaliable, and inspired word.
Ministering: We love to care for and meet the needs of our people and the people of our surrounding communites.
Children and Student Classes:
Pre-School(First Impressions) – Babies Through 5 Year Old (Kindergarten)
(Classes are at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM)
For the children in this age group, our teachers demonstrate the love of Christ through simple Bible lessons about God’s creation and family life. They also use music, crafts and personal attention to let the children know that Jesus loves them, and that they are loved and welcomed in their church home.
Elementary – 1st Through 5th Grade
(9:00 AM classes only. This age group attends Children’s Church at 10:30 AM after Sunday School.)
As our children progress through this time in Sunday School, they will begin to learn about the main characters and events of the Bible. They will learn the stories of the Creation and Fall of Man, Noah and the Ark, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Moses, King David, and of course, Jesus and the Apostles. These great stories from the Bible come alive as God reveals the truths of Scripture to these little ones. Your children will begin to memorize scripture and pray with other children their own age. This is the perfect age for laying a Biblical foundation your child will remember for a lifetime. By fourth or fifth grade, many children are able to grasp the concept of salvation, and with child-like faith, are lead by the Holy Spirit into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Middle School and High School – 6th Through 12th Grade
(9:00 AM classes only. This age group attends our regular 10:30 AM Worship Service in the main sanctuary after Sunday School.)
As our students begin this phase of their life, they begin to see how the Bible stories they learned as children apply to their own lives. Through this difficult time of peer pressure and temptation, they learn from Scripture how to overcome persevere, serve and trust in Jesus Christ to meet all their needs. They learn that as a part of the body of Christ, they don’t have to face their trials and temptations alone. They learn to lean on Jesus, and on each other, as they seek God’s
will for their lives and struggle to overcome self.
Adult Small Groups:
(Classes are at 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM)
Pleasant View offers Adult Classes keeping in step with nearly every Christian walk. We offer new Christian’s, Men’s Classes, Women’s Classes, Young Adult Classes, Senior Adult Classes and Open Adult Classes. Our goal is to make you feel comfortable sharing your biblical values and experiences with others around you in a small, more casual setting, so that all will further the Kingdom of God.
